Mr. Buchanon has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Crestone since August 2016.
Mr. Buchanon has more than 37 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in reservoir, completions, production and unconventional oil and gas exploration. Prior to taking the helm at Crestone, Mr. Buchanon was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Bonanza Creek Energy from August 2012 to August 2016. Prior to Bonanza Creek, he contributed to the growth of numerous oil and gas companies including Noble Energy, Rosetta Resources Inc., Trend Exploration Company, Burlington Resources Inc. (now ConocoPhillips), and Mobil Exploration and Production (now ExxonMobil Corporation).
Mr. Buchanon holds a bachelor of science in petroleum engineering from Marietta College. He currently sits on the Colorado Oil and Gas Association (COGA) Executive Board.
Mr. Huang has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer since April 2018.
Mr. Huang has more than 13 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in private equity, public equity, and operations. Prior to joining Crestone, Mr. Huang was a Principal at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) in the Natural Resources Group and was on the Crestone Board. Prior to joining CPPIB, Mr. Huang was a Vice President at First Reserve in the Hong Kong office, having started in the Houston office in 2006. In between his time at First Reserve, he also spent a year at Remora Energy, a private equity backed E&P company. Mr. Huang started his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Financial Sponsor/Leveraged Acquisition Finance group in New York.
Mr. Huang holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor of business administration from the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with high honors.
Mr. Turcotte has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since May 2017.
Previously, Mr. Turcotte served as Chief Accounting Officer at RSP Permian from April 2014 to May 2017. Prior to RSP Permian, he served in various roles including Vice President of Accounting and Controller at Swift Energy Company from May 2001 to April 2014. Mr. Turcotte was also a Senior Auditor with Ernst & Young LLP.
Mr. Turcotte holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Trimble joined the Crestone Peak Resources Board of Directors in 2016.
Mr. Trimble brings more than 45 years of oil and gas industry experience to Crestone’s board. He was previously the Interim Chief Executive Officer and President of Stone Energy Corporation. Mr. Trimble was President and Chief Executive Officer of PDC Energy from 2011 – 2015. During this period, he led the organization through exceptional growth and value creation for PDC shareholders. Prior to PDC, he founded and also led several oil and gas companies focused primarily on drilling in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. In addition, Mr. Trimble served as the Senior Vice President of Exploration and Production for Cabot Oil and Gas for 17 years.
Mr. Trimble holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Mississippi State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.
Mr. Crum joined the Crestone Peak Resources Board of Directors in 2018.
Mr. Crum brings more than 40 years of strategic financial and operational experience to Crestone’s board. He is currently a managing partner of JAC Energy Partners, LLC. Prior to JAC, Mr. Crum served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Midstates Petroleum Company. From 1995-2011, he held a variety of executive roles at Apache Corporation, including Co-Chief Operating Officer and President North America. Mr. Crum has held leadership positions at several global and independent exploration and production companies.
Mr. Crum’s current board services includes CHC Helicopters, Forty Acres Energy and the American Heart Association – Houston Division.
Mr. Crum holds a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
Mr. Peterson joined the Crestone Peak Resources Board of Directors in 2018.
Mr. Peterson is the Chief Operating Officer of The Broe Group, responsible for the operational and financial performance of a closely held, multi-billion dollar portfolio that includes controlling stakes in oil & gas, rail, real-estate, and other industries.
Prior to joining The Broe Group, Mr. Peterson worked for more than twenty years at General Electric. As Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at GE Energy Financial Services, he was responsible for a $14 billion investment portfolio including private equity and specialized loan products. Before General Electric, Mr. Peterson served as a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the United States Navy for over six years.
Mr. Peterson is graduate of the United States Naval Academy and received his bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering. He obtained his MBA from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Ms. Warmbold joined the Crestone Peak Resources Board of Directors in 2017.
Ms. Warmbold brings more than 30 years of strategic financial and operational experience to Crestone’s board. Before joining the board, she was the Senior Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), where she was responsible for all aspects of finance, risk, performance, tax, internal audit and legal. Throughout the nine years Ms. Warmbold was at CPPIB, she was also responsible for technology, data and investment operations. Prior to CPPIB, she held senior leadership positions with Northwater Capital, Canada Development Investment Corporation and KPMG.
Ms. Warmbold holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University; is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario; and has been granted the ICD.D designation by the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Mr. Elgohary joined the Crestone Peak Resources Board of Directors in 2018.
Mr. Elgohary brings more than 15 years of strategic energy asset management to Crestone’s board. In 2016 he joined CPPIB as Principal, Natural Resources Group. Prior to that, Mr. Elgohary was the Senior Vice President, Asset Management at Capstone Infrastructure Corporation and the Senior Vice President, Operations and Corporate Secretary at Enwave Energy Corporation, a portfolio company of Brookfield Infrastructure. Prior to Enwave, he was a corporate and energy associate at McCarthy Tetrault, a leading Canadian Law Firm.
Mr. Elgohary has a JD/MBA from Western Law and the Ivey School of Business in London, Canada; and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Science from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada.
Mr. Chambers joined the Crestone Peak Resources Board of Directors in 2018.
He currently serves as Senior Principal with CPPIB in the Energy and Resources group. At CPPIB, Mr. Chambers oversees many of CPPIB’s direct E&P investments. Prior to joining CPPIB, Mr. Chambers worked in the Financial Restructuring Group at Houlihan Lokey.
Mr. Chambers also serves as a Director on the Board of Teine Energy, Encino Acquisition Partners and Nephin Energy. He holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Mr. Schmidt has served as Vice President of Operations since August 2016.
For the 40 years prior to joining Crestone, Mr. Schmidt held a variety of positions with increasing responsibilities at Encana Corporation, serving as Operations Superintendent, Operations Field Leader and Sr. Production Foreman from April 2004 to July 2016. Prior to Encana, Mr. Schmidt worked at Tom Brown, Inc. and Inexco Oil Company. He has extensive experience in drilling, completions and production in the DJ Basin, Green River Basin and Williston Basin.
Mr. Schmidt is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Mr. Ohlmeier has served as Vice President of Midstream and Marketing since August 2016.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry holding multiple positions with Encana Oil & Gas USA and ConocoPhillips. Mr. Ohlmeier served in various marketing and midstream capacities of increasing responsibility at Encana including Team Lead of Commercial Engineering and Gas Marketing from 2006-2016. From 1995-2006, he held various midstream and marketing positions at ConocoPhillips including Midstream Engineer, Engineering Supervisor and Commercial Representative.
Mr. Ohlmeier holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
Prior to joining Crestone, Mr. Mulliniks held a variety of positions with increasing responsibilities at SM Energy Company, serving as Assistant Controller; Director of Internal Audit; and Lead Accountant from 2006 – 2017. Prior to SM Energy, he was a Senior Auditor at Deloitte from 2003 – 2006.
Mr. Mulliniks holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Regis University, and a Masters of Accounting from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Mr. Stewart has served as Vice President of Environmental, Health, Safety & Regulatory since March 2018.
With more than 26 years of progressively responsible roles in environmental health and safety, Mr. Stewart most recently served as Vice President of EHS & RC and Government Relations at Bonanza Creek from 2014-2017. Prior to Bonanza Creek, he held several positions at Encana Corporation; AECOM Inc.; Air Pollution Testing Inc.; Kohler Company and Galson Corporation.
Mr. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Coe College and Master’s Degree in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver. He also served for six years on the Front Range Regional Air Quality Council the IPAA Environmental & Safety Committee, and is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
Ms. Miller has served as Vice President of Engineering & Subsurface since March 2018.
Ms. Miller has over 30 years in the industry. Prior to joining Crestone, she was employed by MHA Petroleum Consultants from January 2015- August 2016. Before MHA Petroleum, she served as a Senior Reservoir Engineer with WPX Energy. Ms. Miller also worked for Encana Corporation; Ellora Energy; Tom Brown Inc.; and Amoco Production Co. in a variety of positions of increasing responsibilities.
Ms. Miller has a bachelor of science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, is a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado, and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers.
Mr. Oates has served as Director of External Affairs since August 2016.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Oates held a variety of positions with increasing responsibilities at Encana Corporation, serving as Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Public Relations; Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from 2008 – 2016. Prior to Encana, he worked at TAMKO Building Products as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt / Plant Manager from 2002 – 2008.
Mr. Oates was also a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army. He received his Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategy from the University of Arkansas.
Ms. Busang has served as Vice President of Human Resources since March 2018.
Prior to joining Crestone, she served as Director of Human Resources for Jonah Energy from 2014-2016, and Director of Compensation and Benefits at Intrepid Potash from 2013-2014. Prior to her employment at Intrepid, Ms. Busang held senior human resources and compensation positions at Bill Barret and MWH Global. She spent 20 years in consulting before entering the corporate sector. Ms. Busang worked for several respected firms including Watson Wyatt World Wide; Buck Consultants and the Hay Group.
Ms. Busang holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Purchase has served as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer since March 2018.
Prior to joining Crestone, he served as Senior Director and Treasurer for SM Energy Company from 2007 – 2016; and Vice President and Relationship Manager of Comerica Bank from 2005 – 2007. Prior to his employment at Comerica, Mr. Purchase held senior finance positions with US Bank, investment banking firm Hanifen, Imhoff Inc., and JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Mr. Purchase holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southampton, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mr. Austin has served as the Director of Information Technology since December 2016.
Mr. Austin has more than 16 years of IT experience, with the majority of that time focused in the oil and gas sector. Prior to joining Crestone and leading the Applications, Cyber Security, Infrastructure and Service Desk divisions at the Company, he held IT management and senior management positions with Newfield Exploration from September of 2002 – November 2016.
Mr. Austin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Information Systems, and graduated with honors (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Colorado.
Ms. Kauffman has served as the Director of Business Development and Land since September 2017. Previously she served as Manager of Land after joining the company in January 2017.
Prior to joining Crestone, Ms. Kauffman served as a Landman at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation from January 2008 – December 2016. While at Anadarko, her work was focused primarily in the DJ Basin, Powder River Basin and Utah. Ms. Kauffman is also an Attorney and was employed with Burns, Wall, Smith and Mueller PC from December 2006 – December 2007; and a Law Clerk at Leventhal & Puga from August 2005 – August 2006. Her background in Natural Resources Law has given Ms. Kauffman extensive experience in title examination and review; acquisitions and divestitures; due diligence; Federal, State and fee land project management; and operated and non-operated project management.
Ms. Kauffman attended the University of Arkansas where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Arts and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver in 2006, with a focus in Sustainable Development and Natural Resources Law.
Mr. Bawden joined Crestone in August 2016 and has served as the Director of Midstream and Marketing since August 2019.
Mr. Bawden has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Crestone, he was employed by Encana Oil & Gas (USA) for approximately 12 years and was responsible for commercial midstream activities within various producing basins. Prior to Encana, he held various positions with increasing responsibility and focused within the midstream & marketing segment of the industry.
Mr. Bawden holds a bachelor of science in marketing from Metropolitan State College of Denver.
